DTE Detox & Recovery Guide: Breaking Free from 7-OH Dependency
Hey there,
If you landed here, chances are you’re struggling with something many others are quietly battling too: dependency on 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) shots like Roxy, 7OHMZ, and others flooding stores across the U.S. These ultra-concentrated products might look like kratom, but they hit your system more like a pharmaceutical opioid — and they’ve created a wave of addiction that’s leaving a lot of people stuck, sick, and desperate for a way out.
We’re Down to Earth Botanicals, and we’re here to help.
We created this guide for one reason: to give you a realistic path to escape the grip of 7-OH — whether you want to transition to traditional kratom, taper down using a mitragynine-based extract, or get off everything entirely.
Why 7-OH Is So Different (and So Addictive)
7-OH isn’t just “strong kratom.” It’s a lab-converted alkaloid that binds to your opioid receptors far harder than anything in natural kratom. Studies show it can be 5 to 20 times stronger than mitragynine (kratom’s main active compound). That’s why the withdrawals from 7-OH feel so much worse.
People report:
- Tremors and restless legs
- Nausea, vomiting, and GI issues
- Intense cravings and mood crashes
- Insomnia and extreme anxiety
In short, it hijacks your brain the same way synthetic opioids do.
Our Philosophy: Harm Reduction Over Cold Turkey
Our goal isn’t to shame, scare, or push a “just quit” mentality. We’ve helped people across the country transition from 7-OH dependency to:
- Controlled use of traditional kratom leaf (1.4–2.2% mitragynine)
- Tapering with our Solar Flare liquid shots (72% mit, 95% total alkaloids)
- Complete detox from all alkaloids — if that’s your goal
How Our Taper Plan Works
We’ve designed a simple, flexible program based on what we’ve seen work:
1. Stabilize – First, we help you switch off 7-OH without sending your body into shock. This might involve:
- Replacing 7-OH with a combination of supplements, extract products and taper tools.
- Calculating mitragynine rough equivalency based on your 7-OH use
- Holding that dose for a few days to get your bearings
2. Transition – After you’re stable, we slowly reduce your mitragynine intake using:
- Smaller Solar Flare doses or diluted shots
- Gradually introducing traditional kratom powder or tapering off mit completely
- Adjusting based on how your body reacts
3. Taper – Once you’re on powder only, we help you step down your total grams per day using:
- A schedule (we offer templates)
- Rotating strains
- Optional support tools (like the supplements in our kits)
4. Quit or Maintain – Some people stop kratom entirely. Others stabilize at a manageable 3–5g/day. Either way, you’re out of the 7-OH trap — and that’s the win.
Tools to Help You
We’re actively building out:
- A calculator to help convert extract to powder dosages
- Custom taper planners
- Withdrawal symptom checklists
- Product bundles (“Recovery Pack,” “Post-7 Reset”) to support you at each phase
Everything we make is designed with one goal: giving you options.
Support You Can Count On
We’re not just a kratom brand — we’re people who care about the plant, the culture, and the customers. If you need help, reach out. We’ve also got a Discord community where people share their stories and support each other through the process.
You don’t have to do this alone.

A good rule of thumb is to slow taper if able to do so. A slow taper might look something like dropping 1mg per dose per day. If you hit a stall point or get too uncomfortable, hold for 2-3 days and resume tapering. The goal of a slow taper is to not put your body into shock with too much abrupt change. By doing this, you can effectively reduce your intake without suffering!

				7-OH to Kratom Conversion Table
| 7-OH (mg) 7-OH (mg)Your 7-hydroxy daily intake in milligrams. This is the starting point for all conversions. | Mitragynine (mg) MitragynineThe amount of mitragynine (main alkaloid in kratom) that equals the same strength as your 7-OH use. | Extract Powder (mg) Extract Powder (mg)How many milligrams of your high-potency extract (78.5% MIT) would equal that amount. | Extract Powder (g) Extract Powder (g)Same number as above but expressed in grams. Easier if weighing larger amounts. | Kratom Leaf Powder (g) Kratom Leaf PowderThe amount of plain kratom leaf powder (at 1.5% MIT) that would equal the same alkaloid strength. |
